November 19: Himalaya Airlines is preparing to operate flights to Shanghai from Kathmandu. The airline company informed that it will conduct one flight a week between the two cities starting from December 2.
The airline company expects this flight to further help in promoting the connectivity between Nepal and China and in strengthening the relations between the two countries.
With the operation of this flight, passengers can easily travel from Nepal's federal capital, Kathmandu, to China's central coastal city of Shanghai – a global financial hub.
The airline company said in a statement that it is committed to make the travel convenient, safe and efficient.
Himalaya Airline said it will increase the number of Kathmandu-Shanghai flight to twice a week (Saturday and Wednesday) from December 27.
The airline company has been flying regularly to Beijing and Qingdao.
The company said it is proud to play a role in enhancing connectivity, cultural exchange, tourism and trade between the two countries through air flights.
"This launch represents a new chapter in bilateral relations, facilitating not only tourism and trade but also cultural exchanges and direct people-to-people contacts," the airline said.
The company estimates that more Chinese tourists will travel along this new route.
