Court Order Allows 24-Hour Business at Lakeside Area of Pokhara

November 9: The Pokhara High Court has issued an interim order to allow Lakeside area in Pokara, a tourist hub of the country, to remain open for 24 hours a day.
A single bench of High Court Judge Rajan Prasad Bhattarai on Wednesday issued the order in the name of the District Administration Office Kaski to allow business operations in Lakeside to continue round-the-clock.
The order comes in response to a petition filed by Devi Kumari Baral seeking the court’s intervention against the decision of the local administration to stop business operations in the lake city beyond midnight.
The court had also ordered the defendant to submit a written response within 15 days outlining the reasons and evidence for stopping business in the tourist hub beyond the regular operation hours. -- RSS
