November 5: The government has decided to provide immediate relief of Rs, 200,000 to the families of each person who lost their lives in the earthquake that struck Jajarkot and West Rukum Friday night.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singha Durbar decided to provide immediate relief to the families of earthquake victims.
The government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that the financial assistance is part of the initial phase of relief efforts.
The earthquake, measuring 6.4 magnitude with its epicenter in Jajarkot, resulted in the loss of 157 lives in the affected districts. The Cabinet also paid tribute to the deceased individuals and decided to expedite the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
The government has also announced free medical treatment for those injured in the earthquake. (RSS)
