November 5: An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday morning has decided to provide free medical treatment for those injured in Friday night's earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim. As per the cabinet decision, all the hospitals will provide treatment to the victims free of cost. The government will bear the cost of the treatment of the quake victims.
Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet told journalists that rescue of the quake survivors have been almost completed and all the hospitals including those in Kathmandu are on standby for providing treatment to the needy.
He also shared that a decision was taken to move ahead with the post-quake relief and rehabilitation work, learning from the lessons of the Gorkha Earthquake.
Meanwhile, the government will decide in which areas it shall seek assistance from neighbors and friendly countries after further discussion on the matter. -- RSS
