October 31: The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office (KVTPO) has intensified its campaign of booking the traffic rule violators.    
The KVTPO has mobilized special police teams and intensified checkings in all the three districts of the Valley- Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur for preventing traffic offences.    
KVTPO spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Bhatta said 1,527 drivers were booked in the last 24 hours alone in course of the special campaign.

Among them, 75 faced action for drunk-driving, 21 for driving on wrong lane, 12 for violating traffic light signal, 17 for blowing vehicle horn unnecessarily, 15 for not keeping the vehicle number plate and 321 for over speeding.    
Altogether 1,527 persons faced action in the last 24 hours from 6 am Monday till 6 am Tuesday, including 1,066 for breaching an array of traffic rules, said the KVTPO spokesperson. -- RSS
