Manakamana Cable Car Back into Regular Operation   

October 26: The Manakamana Cable Car service has come back into regular operation from Thursday after closing for three days for the Dashain festival.     
The cable car service, which was closed on October 23, 24 and 25 for the Dashain festival holiday, has been resumed from October 26, said Ujjwal Sherchan, deputy manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, the company that operates the cable car service.     
The Manakamana Cable Car service was established in 2055 BS. The cable car service is operated from Kurintar at Ichhakamana-4, Chitwan to the Manakamana Temple, a famous pilgrimage site at Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality of Gorakha. The journey, which earlier used to take hours if not days, has been reduced to a 10-minute ride after the operation of the cable car. -- RSS
