Collective Efforts Essential to Improve Economy: Finance Minister Mahat

October 17: Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat emphasized the importance of collective efforts to improve the country's economy. He stressed that relying solely on government initiatives would not be sufficient for economic improvement.

During an inauguration of the Female Economic Journalists Association (FEJA) in Kathmandu, Minister Mahat expressed need for support from all sectors to boost the economy. Minister Mahat said the gradual signs of economic improvement in the country but stressed that the efforts of the government and the Finance Ministry alone were inadequate.

He called for a joint commitment from all stakeholders to work towards economic enhancement, assuring that the Finance Ministry was prepared to address any obstacles hindering progress.

 Minister Mahat emphasized the importance of empowering women for the socio-economic development of the nation, highlighting the increased participation of women in various sectors, such as health and education, following the adoption of the concept of inclusive development.

Likewise, Sharmila Thakuri, Chair of FEJA, stated that FEJA's establishment is aimed at playing a coordinating role in the skill and capacity development of women journalists working in economic beat. (RSS)
