October 16: An earthquake was felt in the hill districts of Sudurpaschim province, including in Baitadi, this morning.    
Chief of the Earthquake Measurement Centre Surkhet, Bal Bahadur Tamang, said that an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale with epicentre at Batan, India, adjoining Darchula district occurred at 9.26 am on Monday.    
The District Police Office Baitadi said they have not received any information about the damage so far.

Of late, earthquakes have been occurring frequently in far-western Nepal. -- RSS
