During the first round match of the qualifiers, Laos took the lead in the 33rd minute as captain Baulpachan Boyankong scored to subdue the home crowd.
Nepal leveled the score in the 49th minute of the match, thanks to a goal by Anjan Bista, who scored a header utilizing Erik Bista's corner kick.
