October 11: The Nepal Stock Exchange(NEPSE) Index gained 5.16 points of 0.27% and settled at 1894.76 points on the fourth trading day of the week, Wednesday.
Experienced investors and stock analysts believe that today's slight market increase can be attributed to the conclusion of panic selling of shares for Dashain expenses, as well as interest payments at the end of the quarter.
During today’s trading, a total of 286 scrips were traded in today’s market. As many as 3,733,524 units of shares exchanged their hands through 55,197 transactions, amounting to Rs 1.8 billion.
Mandu Hydropower Limited (MANDU) had the highest turnover of Rs. 4.80 crores, and closed at a market price of Rs. 410.5.
Similarly, five companies posted the highest gain today. City Hotels, Mandu Hydropower, and Hathway Investment hit the positive circuit for the day.
On the flip side, Sanima GIC Insurance Limited (SGIC) experienced the highest loss of 4.21%.
In terms of sector indices, three sectors closed in the red territory with Trading Index and Manufacturing And Processing recording the most loss with 0.13% negative change.
Meanwhile, the "Hotels And Tourism Index" gained the highest 1.80%.
Sensitive Index experienced a gain of 0.21%, while Float Index and Sensitive Float Index gained 0.26% and 0.18% respectively.
