October 4: A person was killed in an earthquake that occurred in Bajhang on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Gunamati Dhami, 40, of Jayaprithvi Municipality-11, Okhal.    
According to Information Officer of the District Police Office, Inspector Dipesh Chaudhary, Dhami died in a landslide triggered by the earthquake.    
A police team has been mobilized in the incident site, said Chaudhary.    
Some 11 people were injured in the earthquake in Bajhang. Two of them returned home after treatment while nine are being treated at the district hospital.    
Police informed that the earthquake caused damage to 135 structures in the district. Chaudhay further shared at least 60 houses were damaged in Thalara and 41 houses in Jayaprithvi municipality. -- RSS
