October 1: After wrapping up his week-long visit to China on Saturday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said Nepal and China have reached an understanding to open all border checkpoints between the two countries which were operational before the coronavirus pandemic.
Talking to media persons upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday after completing his official visit to China, PM Dahal shared that both Nepal and China have agreed to bring the checkpoints used locally in the border areas into operation after completing technical and necessary preparations.
He further mentioned that the Chinese government had expressed commitment to provide grants to systematize some checkpoints.
Similarly, significant discussion was held regarding regular operation of Pokhara Regional International Airport, added PM Dahal. He further said that Nepal needs to make internal preparations to operate two-way flights between Pokhara and Chengdu.
He added that discussion was also held on the issue of conducting regular flights from other cities of China.
On the occasion, he thanked Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka for addressing the demands of the agitating teachers and health workers while he was out of the country. -- RSS
