September 29: Manang Beverages recently launched the Manang Valley Wine at launch event in Manang’s Sabje Lake, 3500 meters above the sea level. The company launched two premium apple wines with the aim to uplift the contribution of local farmers of Manang Valley.
A team of journalists, along with actress Swastima Khadka joined the unveiling program at Manang, marking the “highest” altitude for a product launch on September 27.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Manang Valley Wine, which encapsulates the pure essence of the Himalayas. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, we have artfully transformed locally grown apples into a truly exquisite wine. We firmly believe that Nepalese consumers, accustomed to foreign wines, will fall in love with the enchantment of Manang Valley with every sip," said Aashraya Ranjitkar, managing director of Manang Valley Wine.
Ranjitkar is the third-generation win maker of his family and has partnered with Yuvaraj Gurung, a native of Manang and a third-generation apple farmer.
“The incredible journey of the Manang Valley Wine makes it truly exciting for us, along with its exquisite taste,” Ranjitkar added.
The manufacturers express that every bottle of wine is a labour of love, a fusion of tradition and innovation, and a tribute to the rich heritage of Manang.
Manang Valley Wine not only represents the pinnacle of Nepali wine-making expertise but also demonstrates that it is possible to craft world-class products from local resources, said the manufacturers.
According to the company, the launch at a mesmerising location aims to play a pivotal role in Manang's economic growth, offering a unique identity beyond its status as a renowned tourist destination.
The company said its distinctive taste, resulting from the perfect fusion of nature and culture, sets the wine apart as an unrivalled gem in the world of fine beverages.
The two versions of Manang Valley Wine come in sweet and semi-sweet taste and are now available across the department store in Kathmandu at Rs 1025, Ranjitkar added.
