September 24: Nepal has been knocked out from the group stage in table tennis team event under the 19th Asian games underway in China. Both the Nepali women's and men's teams have been eliminated in the group stage of the team event.
In the matches held at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium in Hangzhou city on Saturday, the Nepali women's team lost to India with a score of 0-3.
Nepal's Sikka Suwal was defeated by India's Diya Parag Chitale 11-1, 11-6 and 11-8 while Nabita Shrestha was defeated by Ahyika Mukharjee 11-3, 11-7, and Ivana Thapa Magar lost the match to Sutirtha Mukherjee with a score of 1-11, 5-11 and 2-11.
Similarly, Nepal's men's team was also defeated by North Korea in straight sets of 3-0.
