September 22: The government has granted permission to 339 climbers from 35 expedition groups to climb 10 different mountain peaks during this autumn season.

According to the Department of Tourism, mountaineers have taken permission to climb Manaslu, Raksha Yurai, Hiuchuli, Kumbakarna Himal, Himalung, Nemjung, Makalu, Thapa Peak, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Among the total number of climbers, the number of women is 73. The department has collected a royalty of Rs 36.49 million by issuing climbing permits.

During the spring time, there is a rush to climb Mount Everest, while this season is ideal for climbing Mount Manaslu. According to the department, 301 mountaineers have taken permission to climb this mountain so far. After Manaslu, climbers are attracted to scale Dhaulagiri in the autumn season.

A total of 10 climbers have taken permission to climb Dhaulagiri. Climbers from 47 countries of the world have received permission to climb mountains in this season in Nepal. Most of the climbers are Chinese. Altogether 67 Chinese climbers have received permission to climb mountains peaks in Nepal.

Climbers from the United States are second only to the Chinese. A total of 33 climbers from the US have received permission to climb mountains in Nepal followed by 27 from Russia.

Likewise, 24 Indians have acquired permits to climb mountains this season. Similarly, there are 14 climbers from other countries who have been granted permission by the department.
