September 14 : Ncell, one of the leading private sector telecom companies of Nepal, has extended high speed mobile broadband service to the headquarters of Mugu, Dolpa, Humla and Bajura districts.
Issuing a recent statement, Ncell Axiata Limited said the company launched 4G service to connect the locals of these places with the opportunities provided by digital technology.
As a part of its service expansion drive, Ncell has installed four 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) – one each in in Thulibheri Municipality (Dolpa), Chayannath Rara Municipality (Mugu), Badimalika Municipality (Bajura) and Simikot Rural Municipality (Humla) – to launch the 4G service.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ncell, Jabbor Kayumov informed that all the districts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces have been connected with the 4G service now. He expects that this will contribute to the government's vision of Digital Nepal and the creation of a digital inclusive community.
Ncell said more than 4,100 of its 4G BTSs are in operation across the country. In the last fiscal year alone, Ncell established 338 new sites in different parts of the country. Similarly, Ncell said that the company has upgraded the 4G capacity in nearly 1,450 towers in more than 60 districts.
