September 13: The 15th edition of 'NADA Auto Show 2023' organized by the NADA Automobiles Dealers Association (NADA), has kicked off from Tuesday. Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat inaugurated the exhibition of the automobiles in Kathmandu.
Finance Minister Dr. Mahat expressed confidence that with improvements in various sectors of the economy the business of the automobiles would also improve.
"The indicators of economy are improving. Foreign exchange reserve has increased. The influx of foreign tourists is on the rise. Thus, problems seen in the auto sector will be resolved, and its business will also grow,” Mahat said.
Dr Mahat advised the NADA to be an association of production rather than of dealers. "The government will provide subsidy to those who start assembling. Since assembling of motorbikes has started in Nepal, we also would have to begin the assembling of four-wheelers,” Mahat suggested.
Dhruba Thapa, the President of NADA, stated that the event, which spans six days, is expected to generate the business transaction of over Rs 20 billion.
The exhibition, which will run for six days in Kathmandu, features a grand display of vehicles, parts, financial services, and other related businesses. According to the organizers, there are around 120 small and big stalls and blocks at the exhibition.
Prominent international brands of vehicles, lubricants, tires, and automotive parts, as well as national brands of automotive equipment manufacturers and service providers, have participated in the exhibition.
The exhibition features 16 brands of four-wheelers, 22 brands of two-wheelers, seven brands of light commercial vehicles, nine financial institutions, and 30 companies dealing with lubricants, tires, batteries, parts, and garage equipment.
