September 8 : Ainapahara waterfall, seated in the Abukhaireni rural municipality-2 of Tanahu district, has emerged as a favourite destination for domestic tourists.
Previously, the site lacked proper management, but significant improvements have transformed its overall appeal. Local representatives are now dedicatedly working towards establishing Ainapahara as a prominent tourism hotspot.
The primary objective is to elevate Ainapahara waterfall into a recreational haven for tourists. To achieve this, artisans are meticulously crafting artistic statues and structures from the natural rocks and stones found in the vicinity of Ainapahara.
The Abukhaireni rural municipality has initiated the creation of sculptures, such as those depicting a mother and son, to enhance the tourism potential of the area.
These efforts have led to a notable increase in the number of tourists visiting Ainapahara, with local resident Bijay Gurung expressing optimism about its prospects as a tourism destination, particularly due to its proximity to the Prithvi Highway.
Shukra Chuman, the Chairperson of Abukhaireni rural municipality, highlighted the role of social media in boosting Ainapahara's popularity. The sharing of photos and videos of the site on social platforms has contributed to its growing appeal.
In the previous fiscal year, an allocation of Rs 14 million was earmarked for the construction of Ainapahara Park. Chuman outlined a vision to develop Ainapahara as one of the premier tourism sites not just in Tanahu but also within the Gandaki Province.
To make Ainapahara even more captivating, plans are underway to introduce sky-cycling and a glass walk bridge at the location. Additionally, a comprehensive master plan has been devised to ensure the systematic development of Ainapahara waterfall. (RSS)
