September 6: The Karnali Province government has adopted a policy of industrial tax discount for women, Dalits, people with disabilities and backward communities so as to promote their participations in enterprises.    
According to the latest Industry Regulations issued by the provincial government, eligible groups will be entitled to receive discounts of up to 50 percent when registering or renewing their industries.    
However, the province government has hiked the industry registration and renewal charges based on the size of investment.    
Industries are categorized into five groups based on their capital investment, and the registration fees vary accordingly.    
The industry are categorized as those having the capital up to Rs 500,000, industry with the capital up to Rs 1 million, industries with up to Rs 2 million capital, up to Rs 5 million capital and industries having capital above Rs 5 million. The registration charge for these industries is in the range between Rs 1,000 to Rs 30,000. -- RSS
