September 4: Police have arrested province assembly member of Madesh Province, Anirudh Kumar Singh Yadav, on the charge of murder on Monday.    
The independent candidate Yadav was elected as the PA member from Saptari Constituency 4(2).    
According to the District Police Office, Saptari, Yadav was arrested from Rajbiraj on the charge of abducting and then murdering Govinda Chaudhary, 32, of Khoksar Prabaha VDC-1 of Saptari district on June 23, 2007. The PA member had been absconding after the incident.    
Govinda's sister, Rita Kumari Chaudhary, had filed a case against nine people including Yadav at the District Police Office, Saptari on June 28, 2007.    
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Naresh Kumar Singh, said District Court Saptari has extended Yadav's custody for few more days for investigation. -- RSS
