Standard Chartered Bank Appoints Md Yasir Arafin as Chief Financial Officer

September 4: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited has appointed Md Yasir Arafin as the bank’s chief financial officer. In his previous role, Arafin was leading the CCIB Business Finance Team of Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh, the bank said in a statement issued on Sunday.

With over 15 years of experience in leading MNCs and local banks in Bangladesh, he is an expert in budgeting and forecasting, quantitative and qualitative analysis, KPI monitoring, RWA optimisation and RoTE related decisions, added the statement.

Prior to this, Yasir was the head of Business Planning and Analysis (Senior Vice President) in BRAC Bank Ltd, Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2016 to 2021). He also worked as a senior manager, finance at Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh looking after Balance Sheet and Performance Management from 2010 to 2016, said the bank. According to Standard Chartered Bank, Arafin began his banking career working with BASIC Bank Ltd, Dhaka.

Arafin completed his MBA from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a Fellow Cost and Management Accountant from Bangladesh and Associate Chartered Certified Accountant from ACCA-UK.
