September 4: The axis of the monsoon trough now lies close to the Himalayan foothills, according to the Weather Forecasting Division. The division shared that rainfall is taking place in most of the areas of the country due to the partial influence of the low pressure line developed in the north-east part of the Bay of Bengal.    
General changes in the weather are occurring in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces now while partial to general changes are taking place at a few areas of the remaining provinces. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning has been occurring at a few places of Koshi Madesh, Bagmati, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces since Monday morning.    
Partial to general changes in weather will take place later today, the division said.    
Light to moderate rain is predicted at a few places of Koshi, Madhes, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces and some limited areas of other provinces. Heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely to take place at one or two areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.    
The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed changes in weather conditions since early this morning. Rainfall is also predicted in the valley later today. -- RSS
