August 27: Akala Namuna Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperatives, situated in Waling Municipality-8 of Syangja, has successfully exported churpi to the US.
The cooperatives' chairperson, Punya Prasad Aryal, confirmed the export of churpi, a form of hardened cheese, which is priced at Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,100 per kilogram.
The dairy operated by this small farmers' cooperative collects approximately 800 to 1,100 liters of milk daily. "We provide farmers with a 50 percent subsidy for agricultural supplies, seeds, and grass plants," stated Lakshmi Pokharel Regmi, the cooperative's manager.
In the past fiscal year, in association with the Prime Minister's Agricultural Digitization Project, 50 percent subsidies were granted to 10 farmers through the 'Buffalor Subsidy Program.'
Additionally, 28 farmers benefited from grants as part of the 'Storage Improvement Program.'
Established in 2075 BS, the cooperative boasts 2,850 shareholders. In the ongoing financial year, the cooperative plans to introduce a Livestock Protection Program, featuring a free animal insurance initiative.
