Parties Agree to Resume Parliamentary Business   

August 22: Political parties in the Federal Parliament have agreed to draft a term of reference to form a committee to probe the recent gold smuggling scam.    
A meeting of the top leaders of the national political parties held at the prime minister’s official residence on  Monday decided to form a task force to draft a ToR of the probe committee.    
The committee members include Subas Chandra Nembang of CPN (UML), Ramesh Lekhak of Nepali Congress and Hit Raj Pandey of CPN (Maoist Centre).    
President of Rastriya Swatantra Party Rabi Lamichhane told RSS that the parties have agreed to prepare the draft of the ToR by Tuesday.    
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had summoned the meeting of the national parties to seek a solution to end the parliamentary deadlock.    
The UML was obstructing the parliament for a long time demanding the formation of a probe committee.    
NC leader Lekhak shared that the parties agreed to resume the parliamentary business.    
PM Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, UML chairman KP Sharma Oli, RSP President Lamichhane and other politicians were present at the meeting. -- RSS
