August 20: President Ram Chandra Paudel has scheduled an all-party meeting for Tuesday at 8:30 am. The President's press advisor, Kiran Pokhrel, said that President Paudel has invited all political parties to convene at his office on Tuesday.
This marks the first instance of President Paudel convening an all-party meeting since assuming office. The objective behind this meeting is to find a resolution to the ongoing parliamentary deadlock.
The main opposition party, CPN UML, has consistently disrupted parliamentary proceedings, insisting on the formation of a high-level probe committee to investigate the gold smuggling scandal. (RSS)
