August 20: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced its decision to initiate direct flight services between Kathmandu and Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The national flag carrier will be commencing these flights on September 6, following the opening of ticket bookings starting August 19. Dammam becomes the 11th international destination for NAC's flights.
Ramesh Poudel, the spokesperson for NAC, shared that the airline will initially operate two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The national flag carrier may increase its flights based on market demand and NAC's management strategies. The fare for the Kathmandu-Dammam route is set at Rs 35,000 as a promotional offer.
NAC currently operates a fleet of two wide-body aircraft and two narrow-body aircraft for its international flights, catering to various destinations.
The expansion of flight services to Dammam is expected to be particularly advantageous for Nepali migrant workers in Saudi Arabia, offering them enhanced accessibility and convenience for their journeys.
