Foreign Exchange Reserves Surged to 1539.36 Billion in FY 2022/2023

August 18: In the fiscal year 2022/2023, the total foreign exchange reserves have increased by 26.6 percent.

 According to the financial report released by the Nepal Rastra Bank on Friday, the foreign exchange reserves have reached Rs 1539.36 billion in the fiscal year 2022/2023.

The total foreign exchange, which stood at 1215.80 billion till mid-July of 2022, increased by 26.6% to reach at Rs 1539.36 billion till mid-July 2023.

In terms of US dollars, the foreign exchange reserves that stood at $9.54 billion till mid-July in 2022 increased by 23.1% to reach $11.74 till mid-July 2023.

The total foreign exchange held by the Nepal Rastra Bank went up by 27.4% to reach Rs 1345.78 billion till mid-July 2023 from Rs 1056.39 billion in mid-July  2022.

Foreign exchange reserves held by the banks and financial institutions (except Nepal Rastra Bank) that stood at Rs 159.41 billion till mid-July 2022 surged by 21.4% and reached to Rs 193.59 billion till mid-July 2023.
