August 18: An earthquake measuring 3.9 in the Richter scale occurred at Khiratadi area of Bajhang district on Thursday night.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, Lainchaur, the earthquake took place at 9:13 pm on Thursday.    
Prior to this, a quake of magnitude 4 in the Richter scale had occurred at Mirsa area of Kaski district on July 19. Earthquakes are occurring frequently in western Nepal of late.
