August 15: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of petrol and diesel.
A meeting of the Board of Directors of the state-owned oil monopoly on Tuesday increased the price of diesel by Rs 14 per litre and that of petrol by Rs 5 per liter effective from August 16 (Wednesday).
With the hike, petrol will now cost Rs 175 per litre while diesel and kerosene each will cost Rs 164.5 per liter, NOC said.
NOC decided to increase the prices of petrol and diesel after its supplier, the Indian Oil Cororation (IOC), increased the prices.
Prior to this, the NOC had increased the prices of petroleum products on August 1.
