August 11: Paragliding has begun in commercial scale in Sindhuli district. It is a first of its kind service in the district. The adventure sport was launched on August 7 while its successful test was conducted on April 25 early this year.
The service based near Kamalamai Municipality-6 was started at a cost of Rs two million, according to proprietor Netra Jung Thapa. Thapa’s company has been licensed to operate up to five paragliding flights simultaneously and the fee for per person flight is Rs 6,500.
The locals are however entitled to get a discount of Rs 1,000 for a month.
The sport that falls into the category of adventure tourism is expected to contribute to promotion of tourism in the district. -- RSS
