August 11: Nepal Telecom has launched Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) internet service with speeds up to 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps), providing faster connectivity than ever before. Previously, the company was offering FTTH service with speeds up to 100 Mbps.
The company has launched an ultra-fast internet service based on XG-PON (10 Gigabit Passive Optical Network) technology, which offers speeds of up to 1 Gbps, making it the fastest available internet service in Nepal.
This service will be offered in two packages: 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps. The downstream capacity for this service will be 10 Gbps, and the upstream capacity will be 2.5 Gbps.
With the Premium FTTH 500 Mbps package, unlimited calling is available within the Nepal Telecom network, while 350 minutes of calling are allowed to other networks each month. This package also includes 0.5 TB of daily data usage.
With the Premium FTTH 1 Gbps package, unlimited calling is available within the Nepal Telecom network, while 500 minutes of calling are allowed to other networks each month. This package also includes 1 TB of daily data usage.
Both packages include an IPTV, CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), a set-top box, and 300 meters of free drop fiber.
The 'Premium FTTH 500 Mbps' package is priced at Rs 80,000 annually, while the 'Premium FTTH 1 Gbps' package is priced at Rs 110,000 annually.
To subscribe to this service or other FTTH services, customers across the country can dial 198-1 (dialing 198 and then dialing 1 after receiving a message) for registration and inquiries related to service connection and maintenance.
For now, this service is available only in Kathmandu Valley, but it will soon be expanded to other areas. Corporate customers who need fast and reliable internet for their business will benefit from this service.
