Market Monitoring in Makwanpur: Bakery Factory Sealed, Commercial Outlets Fined

August 6: A monitoring committee inspected market in Makawanpur district. During the monitoring, a bakery factory was closed due to its failure to meet production standards set by regulatory authorities. Additionally, the committee imposed fines on three commercial outlets as part of its regulatory action.

The monitoring committee, led by the Office of Small and Cottage Industry, in collaboration with representatives from the District Administration Office, sealed Khusbu Bakery, situated in Bastipur within Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-19.

The bakery was found to be operating without the necessary permissions for weighing machines, lacking proper product labeling, and neglecting hygiene standards.  Tika Sharma, the head of the monitoring team, said that a fine of Rs 250,000 was imposed on the bakery for these violations.

Moreover, the bakery's proprietor has been issued a directive to submit essential documentation to the Office of Small and Cottage Industries within three days.

In a similar vein, the monitoring committee also fined other business establishments for quality and hygiene-related shortcomings. Santosh Grocery, New Parajuli Store, and Sintan Grocery and Meat Shop, all located in Bastipur, were each fined Rs 10,000.

The monitoring team included representatives from various regulatory bodies, including the Food Technology and Quality Control Office, Hetauda Sub-Metropolis, and the Consumer Rights Protection Forum.  (RSS)
