July 31: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has drawn the attention of the parliament to form a high-level committee to probe the 100 kg gold smuggling case.
A meeting of the committee on Sunday called for forming the high-powered committee to investigate the case.
"The committee has taken a decision to draw the attention of the parliament to form a high level committee for investigation," said Arjun Narsingh KC, who chairs the committee as its senior-most member.
Similarly, the meeting endorsed the 'Public Accounts Committee Operation Procedures, 2080'.
The committee also drew the attention of the concerned authorities to the inability of planting paddy in the Tarai for want of irrigation, and water scarcity. -- RSS
