Commercial Banks Earn Profit of Over Rs 67 Billion in 11 Months of FY 2022-2023

July 19: Commercial banks have earned profits of more than Rs 67 billion in the eleven months of the last fiscal year of 2022-2023.

According to the data published by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), from Mid-June 2022 until the mid-June 2023, 21 commercial banks earned a total net profit of Rs 67.23 billion.

Out of 21 commercial banks, Nabil Bank made the highest profit, earning Rs 7.11 billion in the 11-month period. Global IME Bank comes in the second position, earning more than Rs 6.5 billion in profits.

Similarly, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nabil Bank, and Nepal Investment Bank, each earned more than Rs 4 billion in profits.

Out of the 21 commercial banks, Agriculture Development Bank had made the lowest profit. It made a net profit of Rs 1.56 billion during the review period.

Laxmi Bank, Machhapuchhre Bank, Citizens Bank International, and Sunrise Bank each earned profits of more than Rs 1 billion.

Till mid-May(Baisakh end),  these banks have earned a total net profit of Rs 57.16 billion.
