July 18: Nepal Airlines Corporation(NAC) has formed a probe committee to investigate the ‘delay’ of the NAC’s flight scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu from Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur through Bhairahawa.
According to the Nepal Airlines Corporation, the flight of NAC’s 9N-AKW narrow body aircraft was delayed after an inspection before the flight showed low pressure on crew oxygen bottle.
According to the local time in Kuala Lumpur, the flight was scheduled to take off for Bhairahawa at 5:00 AM. However, due to a technical error observed in the aircraft, the flight was delayed.
The corporation said that that the flight had taken off at 3:00 PM as per the local time following the maintenance.
The flight was delayed for 10 hours due to a low pressure in the crew's oxygen bottle and the inability to resolve the issue.
The corporation has apologized to passengers and assured that such problems will not be repeated in the future.
“We have formed the probe committee to investigate into the incident, find out the causes and provide recommendations to avoid such issues in the future,” said NAC.
Nepal Airlines Corporation had started flight on the Kuala Lumpur-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu route on June 12, 2023.
