Domestic Airfares Go Up as VAT is Implemented

July 17: Domestic airline companies in Nepal have introduced the inclusion of value-added tax (VAT) on their services starting from Monday.

The Airlines Operators Association of Nepal released a press statement to inform the public about their decision, aligning with the budget for the current fiscal year 2023-24.

As a result of this VAT implementation, domestic airfares have risen by up to six percent.

Passengers will now experience a slight increase in the costs of domestic air travel due to the inclusion of VAT.
