July 13: Both the houses of the Federal Parliament have passed the budget presented by the government for the upcoming fiscal year (FY 2023-24).
A meeting of the National Assembly on Thursday passed the Appropriation Bill, 2080, received from the House of Representatives with a message with a majority.
In the meeting, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat presented a proposal for the passage of the Appropriation Bill, 2080.
Before this, a proposal for cutting the expenses under different headings of the Appropriation Bill, 2080, was rejected by a majority of the members.
The respective ministers had responded to queries raised in the course of deliberation on different topics under the Appropriation Bill, 2080 in the meeting.
The House of Representatives had passed the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on June 28. The government had presented the budget for fiscal year 2023/24 in a joint sitting of both houses of the Federal Parliament on May 29.
The passage of the budget from both the houses of parliament has paved the way for the government to implement the budget from the next fiscal year starting from July 17. -- RSS
