July 12: The Nepal Index witnessed an increase along with transaction amount on the fourth trading of the week-Wednesday.
The NEPSE index saw a rise of 1.22% or 25.31 points and closed at 2097.55 points.
With the selling pressure of quarter end of the current fiscal year coming to a close, benchmark index has become positive.
Buyers have been more active in the market, leading to an increase in trading volume during today’s trading session.
On Wednesday, the sensitive index increased by 0.84 points, the float index increased by 1.17%, and the sensitive float index increased by 0.76 points.
A total of 289 scrips traded hands via 59,539 transactions. A total of As many as 8,504,378 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.18 billion in turnover amount.
This is higher than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 2.85 billion.
SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) shares traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 33.93 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 660 per share.
Five scrips hit the positive circuit for the day.
On the contrary, Rawa Energy Development Limited (RAWA) lost all 10% today.
Only two sector indices closed in the red zone.
"Hydropower" gained the highest 4.41%, while "Finance" lost the highest 1.95% today.
