July 6: A dry landslide has brought the Prithvi Highway to a complete halt between Mauri Bazaar and Turture Bazaar, Tanahun, on Wednesday evening. The obstruction, originating 100 meters above the road, has rendered vehicular movement along this crucial highway impossible.
Mohan Bahadur Khand, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office in Tanahu, has confirmed that a collaborative effort is underway to remove the debris caused by the landslide.
The joint operation involves the Chinese contractor company, local authorities, and community members, all working together to restore traffic flow on the affected road.
To mitigate the inconvenience faced by travelers, the police have implemented a temporary diversion plan for small and mid-size vehicles traveling towards Pokhara via Tanahu. These vehicles are being rerouted through Polyang, taking the path from Damauli Bhirletarchowk via Kolesti.
