June 27: The Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO) has asked all the district treasury controller offices and province treasury controller offices to complete the payments of economic liabilities incurred for implementation of the annual budget and programmes of the current fiscal year by July 9.
Writing to the line agencies in the districts and provinces, the Financial Comptroller General Office has asked them to stop the payments after July 9.
As per the Fiscal Procedures and Financial Accountability Regulations, 2077 BS, the entire payments of the current fiscal year should be made a week before the end of the fiscal year and the government accounts should be closed.
Spokesperson for the Financial Comptroller General Office, Shambhu Prasad Marasini, said that concerned offices and the accounts should be accountable if the payments are not made by July 9. -- RSS
