June 26: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Pradeep Dhakal, the former member secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), at the Special Court in Kathmandu. The lawsuit accuses him of illegally amassing properties.
According to the CIAA spokesperson, Bhola Dahal, the charge sheet presented by the CIAA states that Dhakal acquired an amount exceeding Rs 14 million, the source of which has not been legally established.
The investigation, which was launched based on a complaint, revealed that Dhakal allegedly amassed a substantial sum of money through abuse of power during his tenure as the member secretary of PADT.
Dhakal’s tenure spanned from the Nepali month of Shrawan, 2074 BS, to Jestha, 2079 BS.
