June 26: The Birgunj Metropolitan City has presented a budget of over Rs 3.21 billion for the upcoming fiscal year (FY 2023/24).    
Mayor of the Metropolis, Rajeshman Singh, introduced the annual estimate of revenue and expenses in the 13th convention of the metropolis on Sunday.    
Among the allocated budget by the only metropolis, over Rs 2.48 billion was allocated for the current expenses and over Rs 680 million for the capital expenses. Likewise, more than Rs 36 million has been set for financial management, informed Mayor Singh.    
Similarly, over Rs 1.2 billion would be received from the internal income while over Rs 1.3 billion would be received from the federal government as a financial transfer while over Rs 44 million is estimated from the provincial government.    
Similarly, over Rs 250 million will be managed from the federal government revenue distribution and over Rs 27 million from provincial government's revenue distribution.    
Of the over Rs 3.4 billion allocated in the ongoing fiscal year, 71 per cent is expected to be spent by the end of the fiscal year. -- RSS
