June 26: Pokhara Metropolitan City has released a budget of Rs 7.15 billion for the Fiscal Year 2080/081 BS. Deputy Mayor Manju Devi Gurung presented the budget, which outlines the allocation of funds for various sectors.
The proposed budget includes Rs 2 billion for infrastructure development, Rs 700 million for tourism, urban development, and environment, and Rs 100 million for economic development. Additionally, the city has set aside Rs 65 million for social development.
In terms of funding sources, the Pokhara Metropolitan City expects to receive Rs 2.76 billion as a grant from the federal government, Rs 102.3 million from the province government, and Rs 2.27 billion from internal income.
Furthermore, the city plans to manage Rs 366.2 million from federal revenue distribution, Rs 82.5 million from province revenue distribution, and Rs 1.1 billion from local revenue distribution.
The budget reflects the prioritization of key sectors such as infrastructure, tourism, and social development, with the aim of enhancing the overall growth and welfare of the Pokhara Metropolitan City.
