Four Killed in Okhaldhunga Landslide

June 23: The death toll from the Okhaldhunga landslide has reached four as the bodies of two missing individuals have been recovered. The tragic incident took place on Thursday night following continuous rainfall, triggering the landslide.

One house belonging to Ran Bahadur Gurung of Champadevi rural municipality-8 was swept away by the landslip. In the disaster, Ran Bahadur, 36, his wife Shiva Maya, 29, their 10-year-old son Dinesh, and 18-month-old daughter Kritika lost their lives.

The bodies of Ran Bahadur and his wife were discovered in the morning, while the bodies of Dinesh and Kritika were retrieved from the debris by local residents and security personnel, according to Inspector Devendra Das from the District Police Office.

Additionally, the houses of Bal Bahadur Gurung and Jarsingh Gurung were also swept away by the landslide.
