June 22: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal(CAAN) announced a reduction in airfare on Wednesday. Following the Nepal Oil Corporation(NOC)'s decision to lower the price of petroleum products, the CAAN took the decision to slash airfare across various routes.
Jagannath Niraula, the spokesperson for CAAN, stated that the airfare for the Biratnagar-Nepalgunj route has been reduced by Rs 540, while the Kathmandu-Simara route now costs Rs 90 less.
Furthermore, passengers traveling from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur will experience a reduction of Rs 300, while those heading to Biratnagar will see a decrease of Rs 240.
Similarly, the airfare for the Kathmandu-Dhangadhi route has been reduced by Rs 445, and for the Kathmandu-Nepalgunj route by Rs 325.
Passengers flying to Bhairahawa will enjoy a decrease of Rs 210, and those traveling to Surkhet will have a reduction of Rs 345. The NOC had on Tuesday slashed the price of aviation fuel by Rs 10 per litre.
