National Coffee Conference and Exhibition in Underway in Kathmandu

June 19: The four-day National Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2080 is currently underway in Kathmandu. The conference, organized for the first time in Nepal, will discuss about investment in the coffee sector and the expansion of Nepali coffee.

The conference is being organized in collaboration between the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the National Tea and Coffee Development Board, the Nepal Tourism Board, the European Union Trade and Investment Project and International Trade Center.

Omnath Adhikari, president of the Nepal Coffee Entrepreneurs Federation (NCEF), said that the coffee conference is being held for the first time in Nepal.

He expects the conference to inspire youths to enter the field of coffee business and thereby promote the internal market. He said that emphasis on coffee production and solving the weaknesses in production will also be discussed during the conference.

Coffee producers from 30 districts of the country are participating in the conference. Organizers said that they will organize competitions in various categories to promote coffee.

Businessmen and coffee producers participating in the fair said that the fair has become an easy way to reach out to their potential customers. They believe that such conferences will help them connect with consumers and help in marketing.

The conference, which started on Saturday at Sasa Banquet in Nayabazar, Kathmandu, will continue till June 20.
