June 3: The annual festival of Kathmandu University School Management (KUSOM) commenced at Balkumari, Lalitpur. Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan inaugurated the annual festival on Tuesday.
The month-long festival, under the theme "We Care, We Collaborate, We Celebrate," will feature a total of 16 programs, according to KUSOM. Dr. Devi Bedari, Dean of the University, had delivered the inaugural speech. Various cultural programs were presented during the inauguration ceremony.
As part of the festival, tree plantation was carried out on the premises of KUSOM. Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, ward chiefs, KAF coordinator, among others, participated in the tree plantation. Following the tree plantation, a "Flash Mob" performance took place in the KUSOM grounds. Dr. Devi Bedari and KAF coordinator Ichchhuk Paudyal honored the distinguished guests with tokens of love and appreciation letters.
Similarly, Mayor Maharjan presented letters of appreciation to the students who showcased their presentations during the program. Subsequently, KAF 2023 coordinator Paudyal delivered the closing remarks.
As part of the program, cleaning campaigns were organized at Damark Park on Tuesday. The event concluded with a walkathon from Maitighar to Basantapur on Saturday, under the theme "Clean Air: Our Shared Responsibility," featured the participation of Miss Nepal 2023 Shreechha Pradhan, social activist KP Khanal, poet Mohit Joshi, and flutist Sajag Shakya, among others.
On the occasion, artistes from the Silpi Theater performed a play related to environmental pollution at Basantapur.
