June 2: Stakeholders have joined hands to conduct a marathon around the Rara Lake in Mugu district to promote tourism.
The organisers said that the marathon is all set to be held in the Rara Lake area this Saturday.
The event is being jointly organized by the Shreebax Company of the Nepalese Army, Rara Hutu and Chhayanath Rara Municipality. According to the organisers, this is the third series of the Rara Marathon.
Chief of Shreebax Company Dolraj Shrestha told the state-owned RSS that the event is expected to promote tourism in Rara lake and produce province-level and national-level athletes.
The runners in the marathon competition will run around the Rara lake, the largest lake in the country, added RSS.
The winner of the competition will receive Rs 40,000 in cash and the first runner-up and second runner up will get Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. -- RSS
