May 29: The government has allocated the highest-ever budget for the development of agriculture and livestock for the fiscal year 2023/2024.
In the Parliament, during the presentation of the budget for the fiscal year 2023/2024 on Monday, Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat read out the budget allocation of Rs 58.98 billion for the development of agriculture and livestock.
The budget allocation for agriculture and livestock this year marks a rise of Rs 3.9 billion compared to the last year.
In the last fiscal year 2022/2023, the government had allocated a budget of Rs 55.89 billion for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. The government has also doubled the subsidy for chemical fertilizers this year.
