May 29: The Council of Ministers passed the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2023/24. During a Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday, the budget figure was approved, as confirmed by a minister.

Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, the Finance Minister, will soon present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in parliament. The government has made a budget of Rs 1,700 billion for the next fiscal year.

According to constitutional provisions, the budge should be announced on 15th of Jestha.
